A Message from the Dardanelle Middle School

On January 10th at 6:15 pm, the school administration was informed by several parents of a Snapchat post suggesting a threat of violence. School administration contacted the Yell County Sheriff’s Office, and the situation was quickly handled by the school and the Sheriff’s Department. This was determined to be an isolated incident that did not involve any other Dardanelle School District students. Although this occurred in the county over social media, the Dardanelle Police Department is aware of the situation and is in full support of the school administration and the actions taken by the Yell County Sheriff’s Office. We understand that this can be unsettling as a parent or as a student, but we have taken proper actions to make sure this situation was handled as thoroughly as possible to eliminate any possible threat or rumor. We remain vigilant about campus security and encourage our parents and students that if you see something, say something. Any student or parent can anonymously report a threat of any kind on our STOPit app located on the district's web page.
