The Dardanelle School District is pleased to announce that breakfasts and lunches will be served to all students at NO CHARGE during the 2021 - 2022 school year. It is not necessary to complete a meal application for free or reduced priced meals as The United States Department of Agriculture has extended meal benefits to all students at this time. For households who wish to complete a meal application, they are available at www.dardanellepublicschools.org or at any of the schools.
These meal benefits do not include a la carte items sold in the cafeteria. If students wish to purchase items a la carte, they will need to have money for those purchases.
All adults, e.g., visitors, teachers, support staff members, and administrators of the district must assume the full cost of the meal which is $2.00 for Breakfast and $4.00 for Lunch.

Governor Hutchinson has lifted the Arkansas mask mandate. In alignment with his decision, the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is allowing local districts to decide how to proceed with masking for the remainder of the school year. With the statewide mask mandate expiring and considering survey results from the school staff, the local Board of Education has voted to lift the district’s mask mandate effective Monday, April 12, 2021.
When the pandemic forced schools to close in March, our school district joined with 347 other districts across the country in a partnership with @baylorcollaborativeonhungerandpoverty, @USDA, and the Arkansas Department of Education, to ensure that our students continued to receive essential nutrition they normally get from school meals. From verifying student enrollment and eligibility, to working with our partners to promote and sign families up for the program, the hard work of our district staff made sure food boxes arrived to the right place. For Dardanelle families, meals were delivered from May through August accounting for 3,640 boxes that were delivered to 229 households containing 72,800 meals for 525 participants (all data is provisional and subject to change). This year has brought many challenges but has also revealed how dedicated so many people in our community are to taking care of each other. #mty2020

The USDA’s goal is to assure that all children have access to nutritious meals while the nation continues to recover from COVID-19.
Although students will receive meals at no charge through the end of the 2020-2021 school year, it is imperative that parents continue to complete and submit free and reduced meal applications. State and federal funds received by our district are determined by free and reduced percentages collectively from meal applications. Families who have not completed a free and reduced meal application are strongly encouraged to do so.
By clicking on the announcement, a direct link to the free and reduced lunch applications is included along with a direct link for virtual students to order their meals.
