How many books can you read before graduation? The more you read the times you are entered in a drawing for a scholarship. Information has been emailed to you and your advisors. More information is found below in "Scholarship" part of this page.
ACT Fee Waivers will be arriving soon! If you qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch you qualify for a Fee Waiver. Make sure your Free/Reduced Lunch Form in turned in for the 2025-2026 School year to qualify.

Did you know that you can set up your FSA ID (Federal Student Aid Identification) now? Visit StudentAid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch to create your FSA ID. You will use this every year you fill our a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form and for the lifetime of your federal student loan if there are any. If you or your parent has already created an account but don't recall information to access the account; reset this information instead of creating a new account.
Have you applied for College? If so simply email Ms. Hudgeons the name of the college you need to receive your official transcript.

Questions for Seniors / Parents to Consider throughout the final year of High School. Your Advisor will need you to be able to answer these questions at the February 11 Parent Teacher Conference:

A. Have you taken ACT or Accuplacer for College admission?
B. Have you applied for College? If so which College?
C. Have you investigated or spoken with the College about financial Aid?
2. Military (Enlistment)
A. Which Military Branch is best for your goal/plan?
B. Have you met with / spoken with a Military Recruiter?
C. Have you made arrangements to take the ASVAB?
3. Workforce (Employment)
A. Where to you hope to work after high school graduation?
B. Have you spoken with someone who works at this establishment about the application process?
C. Are you working toward requirements necessary for this job?

SCHOLARSHIPS
How many books can you read before graduation? From January 1-May 1 the DHS Senior with the most books read will receive a scholarship through the Dardanelle Public Library. Books can be from the public library, high school library, or even books from home. Submit you registration letter (name and phone number) to the Library email: darlibtiffany@arvrls.com before April 1. Call 479-229-4418 or stop by Dardanelle Library to receive supplies to track your progress. Senior class member Lesly Beltran can help if you have questions.
Ben Farmer Scholarship: Every year, the Arkansas Association of Pupil Transportation (AAPT) awards a $2,000 scholarship to a graduating senior. One of the qualifications for this scholarship is the applicant must have had a family member involved in the pupil transportation industry(Bus Driver, Transportation Director, Mechanic, Asst. Transportation Director). All seniors, senior Advisors have been emailed the scholarship application.
The Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators (AAFC) is proud to announce the 2025 AAFC Scholarship opportunity for high school seniors planning to major in education. We’re asking for your help in sharing this with counselors and students in your districts. This is a meaningful way to support the next generation of educators right here in Arkansas. Scholarship Details for Students: $1,000 AAFC Scholarship, Winner also advances to compete for the $2,500 National NAFEPA Scholarship, Open to high school seniors who plan to major in education. Application deadline: November 28, 2025 *Information about this scholarship and link to apply has been emailed to all members of the Senior class and Senior Advisors.
